Good to know
- Persian is written from right to left in the Arabic script, with four extra letters. It is called Farsi in Iran and Dari in Afghanistan, so tell us where your document was issued.
- Iranian documents usually give dates in the Solar Hijri calendar, where a year looks like 1403, and Afghan documents may use it too. Keep the Gregorian dates you know, such as your date of birth, to check against the translation.
- Persian family names often end in -i or -zadeh, and their English spellings vary. Send the spelling from your passport, so every document shows the same name.
- Tell us the country of the reader. Farsi and Dari share one script, but some everyday words differ, and the translation should read naturally to the person receiving it.

Should my English document be translated into Farsi or Dari?
It depends on who will read it. Readers in Iran use Farsi, and readers in Afghanistan use Dari. Both are Persian and use the same script, so tell us the country and the reader, and we will write the translation for them.
How are English names written in Persian?
Names are written in Persian letters to match how they sound. If a person already has a Persian spelling on an earlier document, send it to us so the translation uses the same one and the records agree.
Will Gregorian dates be converted to the Persian calendar?
The translation shows the dates your original shows. If the reader needs the Solar Hijri date as well, tell us when you ask for a quote, and we will explain what we can add. Check the reader's requirements first.
Can you translate my transcripts into Persian for a university?
Yes. Transcripts and degrees are common requests. Send every page, including the grading key if your transcript has one, and confirm with the university what else it needs, because requirements change.
