Good to know
- Persian is written from right to left in the Arabic script, with four extra letters. It is called Farsi in Iran and Dari in Afghanistan, so tell us where your document was issued.
- Iranian documents usually give dates in the Solar Hijri calendar, where a year looks like 1403, and Afghan documents may use it too. Keep the Gregorian dates you know, such as your date of birth, to check against the translation.
- Persian family names often end in -i or -zadeh, and their English spellings vary. Send the spelling from your passport, so every document shows the same name.
- Iranian identity booklets and Afghan civil records often run over several pages. Send every page, including blank-looking ones with stamps, so nothing on the record is left out.

Do you translate Dari as well as Farsi into English?
Dari and Farsi are both forms of Persian, written in the same script, with some differences in vocabulary. Tell us whether your document comes from Afghanistan or Iran, and we will read it in that context before translating it into English.
How are Solar Hijri dates shown in the English translation?
The translation shows the date as written on the original, for example in the year 1403 of the Solar Hijri calendar. If your reader also needs the Gregorian date, tell us when you ask for a quote, and we will tell you what we can add.
Can you translate an Iranian marriage certificate into English?
Yes. Iranian marriage certificates often come as a booklet with several pages of details. Send a clear copy of every page, and give us the English spellings of both names, so the translation matches your passports.
Can I send Persian documents on WhatsApp?
Yes. Send clear photos or scans on WhatsApp or through the quote form, one page per image, in good light. We will reply with what the translation involves. Bring the originals to our office later if the reader needs to see them.
