Pashto to English translation in Islamabad

Pashto documents come from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the tribal districts and Afghanistan: land records, statements, family papers and court documents. When a court in Islamabad, an embassy or an employer needs to read them, they usually ask for English. Tell us where your document is from, and we will tell you what its translation into English involves.

Documents we translate for Pashto

Pashto to English requests often involve land, family and court matters, so property papers and affidavits come up often.

Good to know

  • Pashto is written from right to left in a form of the Arabic script, with letters that Urdu and Persian do not use, such as ټ, ډ and ښ. These letters differ by small marks, so a clear copy matters.
  • Spoken Pashto varies between regions such as Peshawar, Kandahar and Kabul, and spelling on documents can vary with it. Tell us where the document was issued or where the speaker is from.
  • Pashto documents often come from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Afghanistan and may also contain Urdu, Dari or English. Tell us which parts the reader needs translated, so nothing is missed.
  • Land records in Pashto may name places, plots and people in local forms. Write down the official English spellings you already use, for example from a CNIC or a court file.

Requirements change. Confirm what the reader needs with the authority before you send your document.

Questions and answers

Can you translate Pashto property and land documents into English?

Ask us with a clear copy. Land records often use local terms for plots, shares and places. Send every page and tell us where the property is, and we will tell you what the translation involves and whether any part needs checking with the issuing office.

Does it matter which Pashto dialect my document uses?

It can. Spelling and some words differ between regions such as Peshawar, Kandahar and Kabul. Telling us where the document was written helps us read it correctly. The English translation itself is the same standard English whatever the dialect.

My document mixes Pashto with Urdu or Dari. Can it all be translated?

Documents from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Afghanistan often mix languages. Show us the whole document, and tell us which parts the reader needs in English, and we will confirm what we can translate before we start.

How do I ask for a Pashto to English quote?

Use the quote form, message us on WhatsApp, or visit our office in Aabpara Market. Pashto is not yet one of the languages in the quote form's list, so choose Another language and write Pashto, or use the button on this page, which fills it in for you.
