Good to know

  • Turkish uses the Latin alphabet with extra letters such as ç, ğ, ş, ö and ü. It also has two letters i, a dotted İ i and a dotless I ı, and swapping them changes words.
  • Turkish names keep these letters, so a surname such as Öztürk or Çelik should match your passport exactly. Tell us if your passport spells your name differently from your Turkish documents.
  • Turkish civil registry extracts list family details in a fixed table across one or more pages. Send a complete copy of every page, so the translation can follow the same order.
  • Offices in Türkiye set their own rules for foreign documents and their translations. Ask the receiving office what it accepts first, and tell us its answer.

Requirements change. Confirm what the reader needs with the authority before you send your document.

Questions and answers

Can you translate my degree into Turkish for a university in Türkiye?

Yes. Degrees and transcripts are common requests. Ask the university what kind of translation it accepts before you order, because some offices in Türkiye have rules about where a translation is made.

How will my name be written in Turkish?

Exactly as in your passport, in Latin letters. Turkish does not change foreign names. If your documents spell your name in different ways, tell us which spelling to use. Names of parents or a spouse in the document follow the same rule, and Turkish letters are used only for Turkish words, never to change your name.

Can you translate a marriage certificate into Turkish?

Yes. Marriage and birth certificates are common requests for families with ties to Türkiye. Check with the Turkish office what else it needs alongside the translation. Give us the names of both spouses exactly as in their passports, because a marriage certificate is usually compared with them.

How do I get my Turkish translation?

Collect it from our office in Aabpara Market, have it sent by courier, or receive a PDF by email. Choose when you ask for a quote, and tell us if the reader needs paper. If you are sending the translation on to an office in Türkiye, a PDF by email is often the quickest way to share it.
